So, here's the thing... as a society we seem to have decided that murderers should do about 7 years in prison for that crime. I don't agree with that, at all, but that's the reality.
Sirhan Sirhan has been in prison for 53 years. 53 YEARS! Why? Because he murdered a Senator. And not just any Senator... a Kennedy... one of our special annointed class of fancy beloved super-Americans.
Well that's just bullshit.
This is not going to be a popular opinion, but there's nothing special about a Senator... why should a killer who murders a Senator get sent to jail for longer than a killer who murders, say, a single mom walking home from work?
I hate this "some people are more important than others" crap that we all seem to have been forced to accept. We do not, nor should we, live in an America with an Elite Class of folks who get better legal results than the rest of us plebes. If Sirhan Sirhan is sent back to jail by the parole board, so be it, but he should get his hearing.
I'm tired of the system only pulling out the big guns when crimials attack one of their own while leaving the rest of us to our own devices... knowing that the asshole who killed our loved one will be out of jail in the time it takes a kid to graduate from high school and college.
UPDATE: He's been paroled... whatever, I don't care. Not my circus, not my monkeys
America needs more of what the Blue Angels are offering
