So I see the Texas Guv is going to build his own border wall, and while that's great it's also super frustrating. I'm old enough to remember the Bush Administration... back when the entire fusion Uniparty was working to bring us Amnesty. Remember the "Gang of Eight" and "comprehensive immigration reform"? Back then, when the Federal Government refused to address border security in a serious way, many of us suggested that the border States simply ignore the Feds and do it themselves. Remember what they told us? "Oh no, we couldn't do that. The border is Federal jurisdiction, we'd only get sued." They weren't even willing to try, mostly because back then they didn't actually want the border closed. But now that they see it as a valuable election issue again, things have suddenly changed. Certainly the underlying law did not.
