You've probably heard by now that Mitch McConnell went on the Hugh Hewitt show to pledge that he would not allow a vote on any Democratic SCOTUS nominee during the two elections years to come. To me this was a rhetorical broadside against a party that has been ruthlessly trolling the GOP lately with talk of nuking the filibuster and packing the Court. Sauce for the goose, in other words.
Y'know McConnell takes a lot of heat from the MAGA-wing of the GOP because he was insufficiently deferential to Trump, but Mitch's defense of the Scalia Seat was the most baller political move I've witnessed in my lifetime and going after McConnell from the Right is just not smart at all, whatever his other flaws may be. Because as long as he's there, the new Conservative majority on the bench is as safe as it can be in these wild times.
