Yes it's more contagious, but it's also weaker and less deadly. How do I know this? Because in England where the Delta Variant is blowing up, cases have more than tripled while daily deaths have essentially remained flat. The same thing is happening in Israel where cases are up by a factor of 10 while daily deaths are flat.
The media and politicians love to talk about cases because hospitalizations and deaths are quickly dropping to zero and they just can't let it go.
But "cases" are irrelevant. We have never made public health decisions based on cases. We make them based on hospitalizations and deaths. We don't declare a "bad" or "good" flu season by the number of cases, but by the number of deaths.
So why are we treating COVID differently?
I think you know.
