I keep seeing journalists report that The Biden Administration is fearful of a Black Hawk Down scenario if they try to rescue stranded Americans. I mean I guess I understand that concern in this hyper-partisan environment, but there is a clear difference between that situation in Somalia and this one.
The mission that launched the Black Hawk Down affair was to capture some high value targets. Now yes, capturing them would have made things better for the overall relief effort, but at the end of the day, it was an elective mission. It didn't HAVE to be done.
But there is nothing elective about rescuing stranded Americans in Afghanistan. It MUST be done.
I would think that average Americans would excuse quite a bit of chaos and death suffered by the military in an effort to save at-risk American citizens who are in grave danger of being tortured to death... but what do I know?
America needs more of what the Blue Angels are offering
